The main characters involved in the book are the love triangle of Werther, Charlotte and Albert, but, beyond them, involving more characters in the book, as the children of Charlotte various managers and counts to which Goethe gives no name,. Such are the main characters in the play:
WERTHER : a young artist with a great culture, sensitive and passionate lover of nature. In addition to this, is a loner who lives in a society that hates: not like the bureaucracy, the distinctions between classes and having to appear in a "politically correct."
CARLOTA : represents the feminine ideal of romanticism. It is a beautiful, educated, spontaneous, natural and simple, who embodies the role of woman-mother, responsible and attentive to everything and everyone around her.
ALBERTO : Charlotte's future husband is the counterpoint to the figure of Werther, a man reasonable, moderate and thoughtful. Sometimes it shows lack of sensitivity and do not understand why certain things in the way of thinking and acting of Werther.
