Econocrácia, democracy and education. New
"I lost one day my democratic sentiment. It was only a moment as a crisis of faith, and in fact I think can not be defined otherwise. Given that Faith explain the unexplainable from a sensory standpoint, my feeling was exactly democratic. "Democracy does not work", "getting worse", "People think we are heading towards democracy, and headed for tyranny." Typical phrases that came to my head at the time. The people (demos) does not focus on power (Crati), and therefore there is no democracy, and it reflected my thoughts.
However, it seems that democracy has changed its meaning, to match the West today. Instead of changing the system so that it becomes in the power of people has changed the meaning of "people power." Now "people power" means "Power of the material." Has more power over material possessions that have, and if a system is not so, is undemocratic ...
If the economy is only limited management resources, and more resources have more power, the power is based on the economy (not in the village), and so liberalism is based. This is the "Democracy of Money", and that decisions are taken as to say the more money you have and intervene in the matter to discuss. Democracy has become Econocracia. The people in charge, but the population is, today, the money, with the individual an instrument, a tool used by the money to reproduce. Thus, democracy is the Econocracia today.
The individual decides to respect, but in fact will never change anything without the consentimiendo economic powers. Only a revolution could return to the individual and the social collective decision-making power.
At the moment we see emerging democratic movements (very democratic), they are constantly insulted and maligned by those who call themselves "Democrats" but whose actions are in support of economic power. This happens because the supposedly civilized Western society, democracy always gives conservative results, since people, having to get up every day for work, taking a miserable salary per month with paying two mortgages, not eager to intervene in their own destiny, but who cares about their mortgages and to keep his job and not fall into the debacle of the bankruptcy and be desauciado. Choose policies that are more common then, without thinking much about it, and given the European heritage of fascism (and its derivation neoliberal / conservative) and social-democracy, and the steady evolution that has taken over the last 50 years on the road to European integration, given the legacy of socialist patriotism Rights Liberals and existing in the United States of America, these are the ways that people choose.
The problem then is education. Right policies, such as the Republican and Democratic U.S. and Fascism / Neoliberalism / Conservatism Europeans have the idea of \u200b\u200belite education, and economic elite is an elite. The highest-paying, or pay, have the best education you can have, as happened two thousand years seen between rich families and teachers classical philosophers and sophists. We like 2300 years ago, with education only for some. The rest will have a basic education based on patriotism, love of flag and defense, as in the U.S., where nobody knows "Where is Spain." U.S. education is a patriotic education and not only that, but it is depressing. The students are discriminated against and feel real sewer rats because they can not afford a good education. Then they will head, and only know love their guns, their flag and their country. No vote is not necessary, but when they call whoever wins, they go to kill Arabs, Chinese, Vietnamese, Koreans, Russians, Afghans, Iraqis or whoever is your turn.
In Europe the sense is slightly different. Conservative policies if they prefer that way, but are not able to practice long term because European culture there, not the U.S.. The scandal raises awareness among people and vote en masse to the social-democrat, to return to the culture thing and continue with neoliberal economics, which are preferred by those who understand and those who do not understand, do not care. Nor does it explain anyway. When social democracy comes to power, education policy back on track. After a time, educational policy is "not for you, or me, and stabilized so as not be changed further along the cycle Conservative / Social-Democrats. In Spain we are in a process of evolution of education, but one day become "Ni for you, or me. " Sure that education will continue without basic political concepts, economic or beyond the "I have four apples, I take away two, how many do I have?". Basic education must also teach ethics policy, and of course economy. The day the primary and secondary students know that the centralized economy is more stable, and in that case all national possessions are public property administered by individuals who they would choose democratically, perhaps the world would begin to change. The day we were taught that the neoliberal system creates economic instability, and more wealth for some and poverty for the rest, perhaps as long as the student's mind is constrained by its own awareness of any coherent education, not education simplistic and not consistent, then the student will see that the economic system is valid. In that case, moving away from the struggle to be one of the wealthiest and look at the social economic stability. That is democracy, not economic power, but of social power.
That aspiration is the only one that keeps my eyes on the democratic system, and it's just because I think democracy is the method best invented non-violent change. However, for democracy work then just need an evolution in education. It requires a constant struggle and a promotion to abandon leftist ideas and social conservative Democrats who succumb to scurfy education that fails to disclose the world, it also prepares people to play different roles in it. Acting without understanding leads to a wander through the world without sense, and this comes from the city of mortgages, real mast that supports the democracy of economic power, Econocracia. As I said before, education must show the world as it is and possible alternatives, political, economic and ethical. That is why what I believe in democracy, because today there are few places in the world, and where there turns out to have social progress moving towards socialization, and not to the tyrannizing.
Six billion people, all of them poorly educated, they know the result today: a world divided into blocks, north and south, east and west, all without addressing the concerns of others and trying to outdo each the other, without falling into cooperation for social progress towards a better world.
