Al generate compassion, we begin by recognizing that you do not want suffering and that you have the right to happiness. That is something that can be easily verified. Then recognizes that others, like yourself, do not want to suffer and are entitled to happiness. That becomes the basis for beginning to generate compassion.
So, meditate on compassion today. Begin to visualize a person who is suffering, someone who is in a painful situation, very unfortunate. During the first three minutes of meditation, reflect on the suffering of that individual in an analytical way, think of the intense suffering and unhappy existence. Then try to relate to ourselves, thinking, "This being has the same capacity as I to experience pain, joy, happiness and suffering." Then try it arises in us a natural feeling of compassion for that person. Try to reach a conclusion, consider how strong is our desire that this person will be free of suffering. Help us to decide to feel relieved. Finally, focus on that resolution and, during the last minutes of meditation, try to create a state of compassion and love in our mind.
